Seasons First Rides

Good Afternoon Riders~

Well yesterday we got about a foot of new snow here in New Hampshire!  Enough so that most clubs have opened up there trails today.  If you go out riding in the area you can expect early season riding conditions on a mix of packed, groomed and ungroomed trails.  Some clubs are planning to groom tonight where they can.  Please use caution anywhere the trails are on the railroad tracks like NH Corridor 19.  These areas really need more snow for good riding.

Last night when I got home from work I got our sleds out and put on the first miles of the season.  More of shakedown run than anything but it was great to get out and play in the fresh powder.  Especially since we had very little riding last year.  Hopefully this trend of regular snow continues and we can have epic riding conditions once again this year.

If you follow our facebook page you will see regular updates on local trail conditions throughout the winter.  Many of the local snowmobile clubs like Ossipee Valley Snowmobile Club and the Scrub Oak Scramblers also have facebook pages and update the conditions their trail systems as well.  Of course we will share our own independent opinions on trail conditions as well.

As we set out on this new year of snowmobiling here in New Hampshire please remember to ride within your limits and always ride safe.  Every death or injury that occurs is not only a catastrophic loss to someones family but it's also a black eye on the sport we love.  Riding smart and riding safe is always the best policy.

If your new to the sport there are some simple things you can do to make your adventure a safe, happy and memorable one.  First know your machine and your own personal limits.  Make sure you know the rules of the trail including the various hand signals, trail markers and signage.  Anyone rides NEEDS a good helmet.  Not only will it keep you warm but it's a simple insurance policy that could save your life.  Get the right gear, the right knowledge, use a little common sense and you'll be golden.  And NEVER get on your sled if you're under the influence of alcohol or drugs!!  It's a formula for disaster.

Sleds today are so advanced from what most of learned on as kids.  You know I can remember when a 440 was bad ass!!  The hot new sled on the block back in the day when Yamaha introduced the Phazer.  Don't get me wrong that was a pretty quick sled even when you put it in the perspective of today's sleds.  But now a days people talk about a 600 as being a little sled.  If you don't already know it let me tell you it doesn't take 800cc's to get you killed.  Today's sleds are powerhouses compared to the sleds of 20 years ago and they need to be respected.

I'm running a little short on time right now because of a few interruptions but maybe tomorrow I'll come back and tell you about some exciting new changes and NEW product lines that we're going to be debuting soon.

Until then,

Merry Christmas

Hello Riders,

Well it's finally here..  Christmas Eve is upon us at last.  All the hard work, preparations  shopping, wrapping and hair pulling all culminates in the grand finale tomorrow.  I don't know about anyone else but my kids are stoked to finally find out what treasures are under the tree for them.  Of course I'm just a little stoked myself...  LOL

We've had a busy couple weeks here at Timberland Power Sports and we have a lot of big announcements coming up.  Not only have we completely moved into our new digs here in Freedom, completely redesigned our store and added some great new stuff...  But we're adding new product lines and services to bring you even more than we ever have before.

For those of you who are locals here in the valley, Shawn and myself were interviewed yesterday morning on the popular show White Mountains Today.  A production of local Channel White Mountain Outdoors channel 16.  I want to thank Chis Proulx and the crew up there at the studio for a great morning.  I think they're going to posting the video from it on YouTube later this week to and if they do I'll be sure and share it on our Facebook page as well as our web site at www.timberlandps.com as soon as they do.

If you follow our new YouTube series Timberland Power Sports TV you'll be excited to know that we will have a brand new episode out later this week.  I hate to say that OLN hasn't called us for a TV deal yet but we have a lot of fun doing it.

Just as note we are closing today (Christmas Eve) at 2 PM and we will be closed for the holiday tomorrow as well.

After we get back from the short Christmas break I will bring you all up to speed on some of the new and very exciting additions we have coming to Timberland Power Sports!!

Have a very Merry Christmas

We Have Moved!!

.
Good Morning Readers & Riders,

Well it's been a long road but we have moved to our NEW location at 193 Porter Road (Route 25), Freedom, NH!  Our new store is much better than our old location.  And we want you to come check us out the next time your in the area.

I want to take a minute to thank all of those that made this move a success for us including Outside Sales Representative Shawn Foss, Co-Owner Heather Wrigley, my boys for all their help, Mary Nason, Richard Seamans, Tyler Belanger, Dig & Doze LLC, and all of our distributors and service providers for helping make this a smooth transition.

Our new location offers us many new and exciting opportunities that we will be working on over the next few weeks and months.  We're a whole lot easier to find thanks to better visibility and signage now too.  We're continuing to grow our inventory and product lines to make sure we always have just what you need when you need it.

It certainly hasn't been an easy task for any of us and we had our share of hiccups through the moving process but we're back to business as usual and looking forward to seeing all of you when you visit our exciting new location.  I think you'll all be very pleased and we look forward to serving all of you for many years to come.

Thank you to all of you for your continued support and a very Happy Holidays to you and your families.  Now, everybody think SNOW!!

Video series

Greeting Riders~

Well today we started something brand new!!  We've started a new YouTube series that we affectionately call Timberland Power Sports Television.  Here is a YouTube link to one of them http://youtu.be/HaYc0F5dPWc and I'm sure you'll notice we're a long ways from professional videographers in these but we'll get better!

We plan to do a couple of things with this video series.  We're going to showcase and review some of the products that we carry here at Timberland Power Sports, we'll be sharing some tricks and tips, some of our adventures and rides through out the year and we'll take you inside some of the shows and events that we do through out the year and include you in some of the great things we get to see and do!

All of us are pretty excited about this.  It's definatley something that is a work in progress but we hope you enjoy it just as much as we do.  It will probably be a while before we get a call from the Outdoor Channel but we're okay with that!  We love what we do and we love our sport.

So check out our YouTube channel!  And remember we really want your feedback!  Not only on our videos but here on our blog as well.  And if you have a suggestion of something you'd like us to cover please feel free to let us know.

Snow!!

We're actually getting some snow in the Ossipee mountains tonight! Not enough to get the sled out tonight but we'll take what we can get!

Hopefully we'll be riding soon! Don't forget, if you haven't yet renew or join a snowmobile club today! After last year clubs need your support more than ever. And without the clubs the great trails we all ride on would be gone for good!

Waiting for the SNOW!

Hello Riders~

It's definitely getting colder here in NH but we're still waiting on that snow.  We've teased a couple of times in the past couple weeks with some flurries and even a few short bursts of snow but not really anything that has accumulated so far.  With morning lows in the teens and 20's  it wouldn't take much of snow storm now for it to stick.

We've been meeting with local snowmobile clubs over the past few weeks as we roll out our Club Runners program.  A lot of clubs are having a hard time of it financially right now so if you haven't already please renew your club membership and help them out.  After a disastrous season and the simple fact that they have bills to pay whether it snows or not they really need support right now.

Through the new Club Runners Program we're responding to the calls for help from snowmobile clubs.  Club Runners is a real simple program where any purchase a member of a registered club makes earns that club 5% of the sale regardless of what the purchase is or when it's purchased.  It's an awesome program the we hope will earn clubs a lot of extra revenue.

The program doesn't cost anybody anything at all.  It's a free program!  Your club does have to register with us and club members do need to provide proof of membership at the time of the sale but nobody pays anything extra for this program.

We at Timberland Power Sports know that without these clubs the sport as we know it would be gone in the blink of an eye.  And like all northern power sports businesses that's a large chunk of our business that would die right along with it.  It's very important that we all contribute to the sport we love anyway we can.  You can learn more about the club runners program at our web site www.timberlandps.com and click on the "Club Runners" tab.  You can even watch a short video we've put together on how the program works.

Long before we started Timberland Power Sports Heather and I had a love of the sport and we feel Timberland Power Sports can not only supply you with the products you need to enjoy the sport but we can do our part to strengthen the sport for everyone.  A lot of businesses here in northern New England benefit from what snowmobiling brings to this area.  And I would like to challenge every business to make the commitment, develop a program and support the clubs that bring so many customers to your door year after year!

So that's my rant for now...  LOL..  Hopefully we'll all be out on the trail basking in the white stuff before long!

Waiting for snow~

Cyber Monday

Good Morning Riders~

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving weekend.  We definitely had our fill of turkey and fixin's over the last 4 days as well as lots of good times with family and friends.  But now it's back to reality for most of us.
As I'm sure most of you know today is Cyber Monday the busiest e-retailer day of the year!  And we have great deals at our web site www.timberlandps.com.

With the start of the holiday season most of us are thinking about or even starting to put away our summer toys, lawn mowers and so on.  With today's ethanol fuels it's more important than ever to use a good fuel stabilizer when storing anything with a gas engine.  Remember today's fuels have a very short shelf life.  Anytime your storing a gas engine for 30 days or more you should use fuel stabilizer such as Sta-Bil, Star Tron or Lucas Fuel Stabilizer.

These products and many more fall essentials are always available on our web-site and in store.  Please always refer to your engine manufacturers manual for instructions on proper storage.  Each manufacturer has different guidelines in place for engine storage.  Some even recommend draining the fuel in you your unit now.  If you have questions about how to store it contact your dealer or feel free call us and we will help you through the storage process.

We hope your holiday season is off to a great start and Happy Holidays from all of us at Timberland Power Sports!
